1. What Wulong is
Wulong sits 130 km southeast of Chongqing. In 2007 it was inscribed (alongside Yunnan Stone Forest and Libo Guizhou) as part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage "South China Karst." The headline area is the Three Natural Bridges — the world's largest cluster of karst natural stone arches, with three (Tianlong, Qinglong, Heilong) spanning 300+ m each.
In 2014 Michael Bay filmed the climactic finale of Transformers 4 on Tianlong Bridge, putting Wulong on the international map. The park now has a "Transformers 4 filming location" stone marker.
2. The 3 sites in detail
2.1 Three Natural Bridges
Three natural stone arches forming the Tianlong–Qinglong–Heilong karst sequence. Walking through all three takes 2–3 hours. The middle Tianlong Bridge is the largest at 300 m span / 230 m height — the Transformers 4 spot.
2.2 Fairy Mountain
1,650–2,033 m alpine meadow, dubbed "the Switzerland of the East." A rare natural ski area in southern China in winter (November–February); a heat escape (22–25°C) in summer.
2.3 Longshui Gorge
A 5 km underground gorge, narrowing to just 1 m at points. Boardwalks lead 80 m down to the canyon floor. Cool and refreshing — the top summer escape.
