1. Why "World's Highest"

Bungy jumping originated in New Zealand, where AJ Hackett commercialised the sport in the 1980s. In 2006 he chose the Macau Tower (then one of Asia's tallest at 338 m), set up a 233 m platform, and broke the world record — still unsurpassed today.

Second highest is in Zhuhai (180 m); third is the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado (160 m). Macau's 233 m is over three times the height of Geneva's traditional 73 m platform — your free fall is 4–5 seconds, vs. only 1–2 seconds on a standard bungy.

By 2026, more than 200,000 jumpers have done it, including Jackie Chan (at age 56 in 2009) and many Hollywood stars.

2. The Full Process (35 min)

  1. Check in on Level 11: sign waiver + weigh in + heart-rate check (5 min).
  2. Suit up: special jump suit + ankle harness (5 min).
  3. Lift to Level 61 platform: 1 min.
  4. Wait: usually 5–10 min (jumpers ahead of you).
  5. Equipment check: instructor verifies 5 safety locks (10 min).
  6. Step to the platform edge: toes 30 cm out.
  7. 3, 2, 1, jump! — 4–5 sec free fall + 2–3 rebounds (~30 sec).
  8. Hover: held at 50 m for 30 seconds (photos, posing).
  9. Slow descent: ground crew receives you (1 min).
  10. Pick up your certificate, T-shirt and video.

3. What It Actually Feels Like

Most jumpers describe it as "the most terrifying 4 seconds of your life followed by the most euphoric 30 minutes." Stage by stage:

  • On the platform: heart rate 180+, knees shaking.
  • Stepping off: complete loss of control — for one second you think you're going to die.
  • Sec 2–3: stomach pushes up, ears ring, the world freezes.
  • Sec 4 — cord catches: sharp "down-then-up" rebound feel.
  • Rebounds: the Macau skyline jolts wildly 2–3 times.
  • Hover: sudden silence — "I'm alive."
  • Descent: 30 seconds of pure accomplishment.

4. Safety & Health Requirements

  • Age: 12+ (12 with written parental consent).
  • Weight: 35–150 kg (strictly weighed).
  • Height: 130 cm+.
  • Disqualifying: heart conditions, high blood pressure, recent surgery, pregnancy, unhealed fractures, prescription glasses 600+ (will fly off).
  • Waiver: signed in English (translators on site).
  • Alcohol: none in the 24 hours before.
  • Gear: trainers + close-fitting clothes. Remove earrings, necklaces and other jewellery.

Skywalk is the best value — MOP788 to walk the outer rim at 233 m (harness, no rail). Plenty of thrill if you can't bring yourself to jump.
