1. About Sky100

The International Commerce Centre (ICC) is Hong Kong's tallest building at 484 m — the world's 12th tallest. On its 100th floor at 393 m sits Sky100, a fully glazed 360° observation deck that opened in 2011.

The biggest difference vs The Peak is direction. The Peak is on Hong Kong Island looking out at Kowloon and the harbour; Sky100 is in Kowloon West looking back at the Hong Kong Island skyline + IFC + Central. For photographers chasing "the Hong Kong Island shot," this is the best vantage.

3. Best Time to Visit

  • 17:00–18:30 pre-sunset: skies turn from blue to orange, IFC reflects the setting sun.
  • 18:30–19:30 blue hour: prime photo window with the richest colour.
  • 19:30–20:30 full night: city lights + Symphony of Lights show (nightly at 20:00).
  • 10:00–11:30 morning: fewest people, crisp daytime panorama.

Avoid: 14:00–16:00 (worst direct-sun glare on the glass); Saturday evening 19:00–20:30 (most crowded).

4. Photo Spots

  1. East (toward Central): IFC, the Central observation wheel, the Hong Kong Island skyline.
  2. South (Victoria Harbour): harbour-crossing bridges and the Avenue of Stars.
  3. West (toward Lantau): HKIA, and on a clear day, Macau in the distance.
  4. North (Kowloon): Kowloon street life from above.
  5. The Sky100 mirror floor: the giant SKY100 logo on the floor with glass reflections — the Instagram money shot.

5. Is the Café 100 Add-On Worth It?

Café 100 is on the same level as the deck, serving coffee, light bites, and cakes. Not cheap (HK$80–150 per item), but two reasons to add it:

  1. Window-side seats let you sit and linger over the view;
  2. The combo saves HK$30 vs deck + coffee bought separately.

Best for: couples, family rest stops, indoor afternoons on rainy days.

6. Getting There & Back

  • MTR: Airport Express / Tung Chung / Tuen Ma Line "Kowloon" Station Exits C/D — underground passage to ICC mall B2, then lift to the 100th floor.
  • Bus: 215X, 6F, 272X — alight at the West Kowloon high-speed rail station, 5-min walk.
  • From the airport: Airport Express, 22 min to Kowloon Station, HK$105.
