1. The three landmarks in detail
1.1 Ming City Wall (13.7 km intact wall)
Built in 1370 (the 3rd year of the Ming Hongwu reign), this is the most intact ancient city wall left standing in China. A 13.74 km closed loop, 12 m tall and 12–14 m wide. Cycle the top (¥45 / 2 hr) or walk it. Sweeping views of old Xi'an from the rampart.
1.2 Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Xuanzang's scripture tower)
Built in 652 (Tang Yonghui 3) by the monk Xuanzang to house the Buddhist scriptures he had brought back from India. 7 storeys, 64 m tall — one of the oldest and largest pagoda-style buildings still standing in China. Listed as a National Key Cultural Relic in 1961. At its base sit Da Ci'en Temple and the Music Fountain Plaza.
1.3 Tang Paradise / Datang Everbright City (Tang-style night quarter)
Renovation completed in 2018 — China's first Tang-themed pedestrian boulevard. 1.5 km long, with Tang-style architecture, light shows, hanfu-clad visitors and the famous "Tumbler Doll" performance. Lights up 19:00–23:00 daily; Xi'an's hottest nightscape.
