1. The glass bridge
Opened August 2016, the world's longest and tallest glass bridge. 430 m spans the canyon, 6 m wide with 4.5 cm of three-layer tempered glass. Rated to carry 800 people + 4 cars simultaneously. Designed by Israeli architect Haim Dotan.
Four things to do on or around the bridge:
- Walk it — 10–15 min for the full 430 m;
- Bridge bungee — ¥388, a 300 m jump — the world's second-tallest after Macau Tower (233 m);
- Zipline — ¥100, deck-to-far-side;
- The canyon below — free to wander.
2. Glass Bridge vs Tianmen Glass Skywalk
| Item | Grand Canyon Glass Bridge | Tianmen Glass Skywalk |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 430 m | 60 m |
| Height | 300 m | 60 m |
| Width | 6 m | 1.6 m |
| Price | ¥218 | +¥50 within Tianmen ticket |
| Vertigo factor | ★★★★★ | ★★★ |
The Grand Canyon bridge is roughly 5× more vertiginous — but the views are also dramatically wider. If you only have to pick one, pick the Grand Canyon.
3. Suggested 1-day route
- 09:00 entry — head straight to the glass bridge (mornings are quiet);
- 10:00 — bridge photos + bungee (optional);
- 11:00 — descend into the canyon;
- 12:00 lunch;
- 13:30–15:30 — Grand Canyon explore (Rainbow Waterfall, One-Line-Sky);
- 16:00 head back.
4. Best time to visit
- April–May, September–October: most comfortable weather.
- Avoid: June–September thunderstorms (closures); Spring Festival mob.
- Best window each day: 08:00–10:00; after 11:00 expect 30+ min queue to step on.
5. Safety
The bridge is extremely safe — zero incidents since 2016. Engineering:
- 3-layer 4.5 cm tempered glass + steel frame on all sides;
- Daily inspections;
- Auto-closure on high winds / lightning;
- Cap of 8,000/day, with 800 max on the bridge at any moment.
That said, acrophobics should take the alternate path — a 300 m drop will spike anyone's pulse 30–50%.
6. How to save money
- Pre-book on Klook: ¥40 off base;
- Skip the bungee: the bridge alone is plenty;
- Children under 1.0 m free;
- 1.0–1.4 m half price;

- Forest Park 3-day combo: ¥458 — saves ¥80 vs separate purchases.
7. Practical tips
- Bring: ID / passport, comfortable walking shoes;
- Not allowed: high heels (damages the glass), selfie sticks, pets, drones;
- Required: shoe covers (provided on site, ¥5);
- Bungee restrictions: no hypertension, heart conditions, or pregnancy;
