1. What it is
Opened in 1994 by OCT Group (the same company behind Happy Valley Shenzhen), Window of the World was one of Shenzhen's first big theme parks. It rebuilds 130+ famous world landmarks at 1:3, 1:5 or 1:15 scale across 480,000 sqm — a one-day "world tour" of 13 countries: Egypt, France, the US, India, Greece, Italy, the UK, Japan, Brazil, Kenya and more.
In 2024–2025 the park got a major lighting and "immersive light-and-shadow night" upgrade, with AI interactions and AR character photo ops. Three decades on, it's still one of Shenzhen's most-searched "things to do" (1,100 monthly searches in HK).

5. Best time to visit
- March–April: cherry blossoms in Japan zone, tulips in Europe zone.
- October–November: most pleasant weather.
- Avoid: June–September (heat + downpours); Spring Festival (mobbed).
- Best day: Tuesday or Wednesday.
Night vs day
Night at ¥90 is half the price of the day ticket and includes the immersive light-and-shadow show plus street performances. But you only get 19:30–22:30 (3 hours) and parts of the outer landmarks are too dark to see properly. I recommend: buy the day ticket but enter at 16:00 — you'll cover the late afternoon and ride the night show out to 22:30.
6. How to get there
- Metro: Line 1 / Line 2, "Window of the World" Exit H — direct to the gate.
- From Hong Kong: cross at Lo Wu / Futian, then Metro Line 1 — about 1 hour.
- From Shenzhen Airport: Line 11 → transfer at Chegongmiao to Line 1, ~45 min.
7. How to save money
- Pre-book on Klook: ¥55 off day tickets;
- Choose night ticket: ¥75 off;
- 16:00 arrival trick: night ticket at ¥90 is enough;
- Children under 1.0 m free;
- 1.0–1.4 m half price;
- Combo: ski-centre add-on is only ¥80 more (the standalone ski ticket is ¥100+).
8. Practical tips
- Bring: power bank, sun protection, comfortable shoes (5+ km on foot).
- Not allowed: outside food, pets, selfie sticks.
- Strollers: rentable at ¥30/day + ¥50 deposit.
- Accessibility: main paths are flat; some replicas have steps.
- Use the Window of the World app: locations + show times.
- Eiffel climb: free with admission, but a 30-min queue in peak season.
